About Vera
Vera Wang, a native New Yorker, has loved fashion since childhood. After completing her studies at The Chapin School, Sarah Lawrence College and the Paris Sorbonne University at age 23, Vera was named the youngest ever Vogue fashion editor and stylist. She remained there for 16 years before moving to Ralph Lauren as a design director. Only after designing the gown for her own wedding in 1989 did Vera discover her love and natural talent for bridal design. The following year she opened her flagship store on Manhattan's famed Madison Avenue, introducing fashion to the bridal industry with contemporary designs and refined detailing. Since then, Vera has expanded her collections to include ready-to-wear, footwear, eyewear, fragrance, china and crystal, silver and gifts, bedding, mattresses, fine papers, luggage and hospitality. She also wrote her first book, "Vera Wang On Weddings." In 2005, the Council of Fashion Designers of America named Vera "Womenswear Designer of the Year." In 2007, Vera further established herself as a style authority by sharing her uniquely modern sense of style with millions of American women through the Simply Vera Vera Wang line available exclusively at Kohl's stores nationwide. With the Simply Vera Vera Wang collection, which includes women's apparel, accessories and home items, Vera encourages women to embrace their personal style and be creative with their fashion sense. Vera Wang resides in New York City with her husband and two daughters.
