Right out of the box I picked up the first towel and held it up and looked like there was something odd in the middle....poked my thumb right through the towel. Picked up the second one and it had a pull about an inch long. If you do buy these towels make sure you hold them up with a bright light behind....the batch I received has inconsistencies and you can see right through the towels in places....I believe some people have gotten decent quality towels as there are many good reviews.....just not these.

I am surprised to read some of the negative comments about these towels. I just ordered a couple of new sets of Apt. 9 towels because I have found them to be thick and thirsty and have also found they have held up well over time. I have a high end vacation rental home and have used these towels for the last 3 years and have found that they have held up very well and still look great after lots of washing! I often have guests ask where I purchased these towels, because they love them. I'm sure that you can perhaps get a bad towel here and there but I've always found that Kohl's will gladly refund your money for any reason. Don't hesitate to buy these towels!

The Fine Linen color washed out to light peach color. I do not bleach or wash with other colors so not sure why the color changed. The dark colors have held up very well over the 3 years. But the hems have come loose on almost every one of the towels. I did a quick stitch by hand to fix them. Very absorbent as stated.

We purchased these towels 10 months ago. For a couple of months they were very linty, which is to be expected with a new towel. That was not a big deal, and the towels stayed nice and fluffy. They work great and dry nicely (in the dry Arizona air), and were keeping their color well.
However, at about 6 months the threads started to unravel. One towel has completely unraveled about halfway across one short edge, and the others have unraveled to a lesser extent. The color is starting to fade.
This may be because we wash in hot water and dry on high, but this is our personal preference, and we have other towels that have held up longer. I would not buy these towels again.
