I have had this model for almost 5 years, and use it several times a week. It is much easier to make rice than a rice cooker and the rice comes out exactly the same each time. Use it to tenderize ribs before broiling. Also - you have to try lentils in this - put some piece of meat such as pork or beef in the bottom, brown it for a couple of minutes, then put the lentils in 2 water to 1 lentil measure. Season as you like, and then cook 14 minutes. After you release the pressure, put some celery, chives, green onions and herbs. Leave covered but off - wait around 5-10 minutes and serve. MMMM.
My current unit seems to have burned out but I will certainly buy the exact same model for a replacement, as I have certainly gotten a lot of value. Waiting for 30 percent off and will order.

Surprised at the ease of use of my first pressure cooker! Didn't want to chance ruining a roast so my first attempt at pressure cooking was a vegetable dish recipe I found in the manual. Came out great! I've made a pork and a beef roast since and they were both very tender. Also made ham hocks and beans which was very tasty but I'll cook a few minutes longer next time as I like beans a bit softer. Risotto was amazing and I didn't have to babysit it. I'll continue to experiment with recipes because the short cooking time is such a bonus. Shouldn't have waited so long to buy one.

I grew up with the old fashioned pressure cooker with the rocking time bomb on top and this is so far removed from that! I have enjoyed several tasty meals in about 1/3 of the time of regular cooking with hardly no clean-up! The one pot meals are fantastic! This was money well spent and I have recommended it to many friends!
Rated 5 out of 5Â by miriam I love my electric pressure cooker, I got it from khol's over a year ago and use it almost 3 times aweek, it is a life/time savor. all in one. I've been using the high pressure mode the most and I cook a chicken for 13 minutes and beef stew for 18-21 min. (the guide will help you with setting times) you can brown your meat or onion before you start the pressure.
I let the steam out using a kitchen towel on top loosly to decrease the splatter of the steam while releasing or you can just let go to the warm mode and it will cool off for few minutes.
I can program it for the time needed for cooking and leave with no worry because it goes to warm mode directly. I cooked rice couple times and after that I learned to adjust the water and release steam as soon as the 3 minutes are done. if I left it longer thr rice will overcook and turn into a paste, but once you experience with it you will make perfect rice.
I can cook a full meal in less than 30 minutes and it saved me many times, you will not regret it, it's worth every dime and more.
