Rated 2 out of 5 by Issue with this one I received the grinder for Christmas and have been using it daily since. This morning as I reached to adjust the grind settings by twisting the hopper, it separated and all the beans ran out on my counter? I looked for a way to reconnect the basin but it appears it is supposed to be a single unit? I went to the Mr. Coffee website and requested a replacement hopper. Will see if their service is at par with the industry leaders. To be continued.... 06/26/2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by This dud only lasted 9 WEEKS!! We have had a hand burr grinder, and put this automatic one on our Christmas Wish List. Well we got it, and it lasted a whole 9 weeks of daily use before calling it quits. The only thing that was consistent on this was the blue light that consistently illuminated from it. First I was not impressed with the grind quality. Maybe its because I am coming from using a high quality hand grinder? Either way, I tinkered with this and regardless of how I dialed the grind, I always had an excessive amount of "dust", which results in a bitter cup of joe. NEVER got the "uniform grind quality" they advertised. BUT - my main complaint is it DIED AFTER 9 WEEKS!!! I would press the start/stop button, and it would buzz. Just a buzz sound. So disappointed! Rated 1 out of 5 by broke after 5 months Seemed like a great grinder at first - I loved it for the first several months that I used it, with the exception of the clogs that occur. When the machine clogs it's kind of a pain to clean, but nothing is perfect. However, when I did a big cleaning on the clog this time (probably the third time in the 5 months that I've owned it), the whole top part of the receptacle that holds the coffee beans snapped off in my hand! Needless to say, this is going back. Thank goodness Kohl's is so good about accepting returns! 11/03/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by inconsistent in grinding quality A mentioned in other reviews, this is quite noisy, and seemed to get more so after 'warming up.' This is my 1st grinder, bought with a gift card and supplemented the difference with our own money. I wanted a fresher coffee, so thought it good to grind our own. Did research; wanted a burr type. This seemed to fit the need, and a good price. After trying to get the right settings, and after calling the company for direction, my husband and I concluded that this does not grind beans small enough, so wastes the beans. I wondered why I was going through more bags of coffee per week. Interestingly, the fine setting, reserved for espresso, was not all that fine and did not look all that different from the medium setting! And, the grinding is not consistent. I have done more research and opted to buy a different grinder. The cost is double, but if you really want good self ground coffee, I think you get what you pay for. 02/15/2016
