Just purchased for Canadian Thanksgiving. Seasoned the unit as per instructions. I used canola oil, 2 sessions about 25 minutes each and I had a beautiful bronze cooking surface. Rubbed a 13 pound Turkey with olive oil, then seasoned with smoked paprika and salt. Pre-heat the unit for 10 minutes, dropped in the Turkey and cooked for 2 hours until meat thermometer read 170 degrees in both breasts. AWESOME, Brown crispy skin, juicy meat with fabulous taste! See for yourself, this really is EASY! Oh and I coated the basket with canola oil using a paper towel, bird didn't stick, clean up easy. Last thing, drippings made a fantastic gravy.

i bought the big easy fryer several months ago i have used it many times so far. the pork roasts are awsome. ribs come out great and the chicken and turkeys are just da bomb. the gravy tray is such a nice feature. it is so nice to have home made gravy. rubs stay on and there is no oil mess or disposal of old oil. no pre heating. i still havent figured out why the lid works the way it does but omg does it work and work great. i would recommend the big easy oil less fryer and have many times over and over again.my friends have loved the food so much they too have bought them. love at first taste

I bought this fryer about 3 years ago and have experimented lamb, roast, ribs, chicken, turkey, ham, pork shoulder, chicken drums, etc., etc... It cooks very fast and does not dry the meat. The only thing Char Broil can do to improve this super cooker is to improve the material used on the drum to increase its resistance to rust. I keep my fryer covered all the time when not using it, and the rust has been inevitable. Other than the rust, all works well and have been happy with it - for that reason only I scored it 4 stars. If the drum is improved in the future, I will rate it 6 stars. LOL

I brought this fryer in 2013 for Thanksgiving. I was giving thanks to the hassle free juicy turkey we had that year. For our first turkey, we brined it over night and it came out perfect. The second one was an injected turkey (my father in law's favorite) and it was still so very good. I have only "fried" turkeys and chicken in it so far and every time the skin is soooo crispy never burnt and the meat was falling off the bone. I am finally purchasing the accessories and I can't wait to do more. If you buy this model or the newest one you should not be disappointed. Best money I spent.
