Rated 1 out of 5 by Leaks. Then it leaks some more ... Bought in April and it started leaking in August. Two-person home where coffee is typically brewed only once per day. The concept is nice (no glass carafe to crack and then have to replace) but the design is flawed. When I contacted Cuisinart, they offered to replace with the same exact model ... with no improvements on design AND with shipping at my expense. Plus, I had to ship MY defective unit back to them at my expense??? Kohl's gave me full credit and I replaced this with a lovely KitchenAid unit with a regular, glass carafe. Live and learn ... 10/30/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by No carafe! I bought it because there's no carafe for me to break. We use the sprayer from our sink to fill the reservoir, so no issue there. I didn't want to get stuck with having to buy the coffee pods - plus we like regular, old fashioned coffee the best. One downside is the limitation on the height of a cup that fits under the dispenser. A travel mug doesn't slip under it. However, cups only slightly shorter (1/2") than a travel mug DO fit. I thought all coffeemakers burbled at the end- that's what tells me it's done! So the tiny beep seems duplicative. I love the streamline look on my new counters. 11/17/2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Fatal Flaw - It leaks I loved this product while it worked. It brewed the coffee well, the pouring mechanism works well, and the conveniences of the product are all there. However, the decanter that holds the brewed coffee has a flaw that makes it extremely frustrating: over time, it leaks. After going through 2 decanters, I figured out that the problem is that the gasket on the spout eventually wears out caused by cleaning the decanter with vinegar and water. Mind you, I only cleaned the unit once a month, but after 6 washings with 1 (one) tablespoon of vinegar and water, it fell apart. By now, you are saying, "Don't do that". OK. Great. How do I clean the lines in the coffee maker? Why does vinegar harm this product? It could be such a great product. 09/24/2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk from the start For the first 2 months or so we were very pleased with this maker. It made coffee very fast! Then shortly after it started falling apart. The plastic lid started warping from the steam, The level gauge stopped working, then the cleaning notification was always on. We followed the directions to clean, and it seemed to work, for a few days...then it said it needed cleaning again. Shortly after that...it started only brewing one cup at a time. We had to constantly shut it off and turn it back on 12 times to get a full pot of coffee. We took it back and exchanged it for the same thing, because we liked it to start. It didn't take long until this lid also started to warp and the brewing problems started happening again. Yes, we used bottled water to brew, not tap water. 04/22/2013
