The first one last two years and began leaking (all over the counter, floor, etc.) and so I threw out and bought another last year (should have returned). Just this week, brewed a pot and, again, the valve stuck and coffee all over the counter. Returned to Kohl's and received refund. This seems to be a defect if you read reviews. Also the container is really hard to clean as coffee oils collect in a bottom rim and takes A LOT of scrubbing. Two stars for idea, zero stars for quality and execution. 07/22/2016

Rated 1 out of 5 by Leaks! Leaks! Leaks! Waste of Money!! Bought this coffee maker in May 2014 (5 months ago). The pour spout leaks like crazy! It has started leaking last week. It continues to leak, and it keeps getting worse. Don't leave the room while it's brewing, unless you want to return to a counter and floor covered in coffee. I have to keep a cup under the spout to catch leaks while it's brewing. You cannot leave one drop of coffee in the pot. After it's brewed, the pot must be immediately emptied, or the remaining coffee will leak out. So long as there is coffee in the machine, it will leak! I contacted Cuisenart, and they were NO help at all. Basically, don't buy this piece of junk!! 10/29/2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by SO BAD IT SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE MARKET. Was in need of another coffee make as my old cuisinart with grinder started clogging up after many years. This would have been my 5th cuisinart machine and i had been happy with the previous 4 units. On the third day we woke up to coffee all over the floor and inside the cabinet drawer. Called cuisinart and tech support said unit must be defective and to return it to them and they would then send out a replacement unit. The catch was, i was to pay the freight both ways. I didn't pay the freight to purchase it so i returned it to the store and picked up a new unit of the same model, figuring i couldn't get two bad units back to back. Well the first time i used it I decided to watch it. Made coffee and everything seemed fine. Dispensed 1st cup and unit kept dispensing coffee even though handle was released. Fortunately i was near other cups and kept filling them up unit unit was empty. All this while the handle remained untouched. Had I not been there i would have had coffee all over the floor and cabinets again, not to mention inside the cabinet drawers. Called cuisinart again and was told the best they could do was pay freight one way. Asked to speak to a supervisor and waited in excess of 45 minutes to talk with them. NO ONE EVER CAME ON. THIS PRODUCT IS SO BAD IT SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE MARKET 08/13/2016
