Excellent for my college dorm. Picks up dust and hair wonderfully. However, I wouldn't recommend this for a large house because its very small. If it is designated to one room such as the basement or a bedroom then it should be fine. It was very easy to put together, it took me about two minuets. It picks up well and it picks up dust not visible to the eye. It sounds like a hairdryer when turned on, I like that a lot because I always found standard vacuums too loud for me. It easily fits in my small closet.

When we pulled up all of our carpet and had the hardwood floors refinished, I needed a simple way of keeping them clean without dragging out the big vacuum that was really too big for the job. After a bit of internet research, I decided on the Bissell Featherweight, and I am so glad I did! It's easy to use, very light weight, and has good suction. My floors are spotless. Only one glitch - I didn't receive the crevice tool with the vacuum, but one phone call remedied that. I'm very happy with this simple little vacuum.

I bought this to use on a small carpeted area in my basement. My central vac does not reach this area and while it's not a high traffic spot, needed something. I was not willing to spend a lot and liked that this was bagless, super lightweight and easy to carry around, and it could also double as a hand vac. This does the job it is supposed to. The carpet in the basement is not great quality, but the vac picks up everything on it with no problem. I have also carted it upstairs to my kitchen/hallway to do a quick run when I didn't feel like dragging out the central vac, and worked great on the wooden stairs leading into the basement because it is so lightweight. This does NOT do a good job on the dog and cat hair on the super-thick plush carpet in my upstairs hallways and bedrooms, but even my central vac has a problem with that sometimes! The pet hair kind of lays on top of the pile and this vac doesn't have a beater brush and just doesn't have enough suction to pull it up. Bottom line, if you are looking for something that will do a good job on tile/linoleum/hardwood flooring this vac is ideal, and does a passable job on regular carpeted areas. If you have super plush carpet, don't bother with this -- spend the $$ on a high end vac.

After 10 years and lots of use, my old one died, promptly ordered another and I'm back in business, this is just a great little vacuum, better than a broom, lighter than my full size vacuum, makes keeping my tile floor free of cat hair so easy.
