Nice, powerful hand held mixer that can handle any task! Great quality mixer that looks like it will last! Now, I don't have to pull out my heavy, deluxe countertop Kitchenaid mixer for everyday recipes. I also like the retractable cord feature. The only thing I was disappointed in was with way it was shipped to my home.... it came with a shipping sticker on the mixer in the box. No packing box, no packing materials. I was afraid to open the mixer to find it damaged, but it seems to be fine so far. I don't understand why it came like this to my door, otherwise, wonderful product!

I needed something with some power to replace my Kitchen Aid mixer that was losing it's oomph and this Dualit 5-speed hand mixer does the trick. It's just a tad heavier, but I don't mind that because it actually adds a little more leverage when using given the additional power it has. I've yet to have to max out the power on this mixer and with Christmas goodies, I put it through its paces. I wish I had purchased another one for my daughter. I may still do that, I like this mixer that much. Why lug around a big stand mixer when this is really all you need.
Rated 2 out of 5Â by LoriVT Impressive look and weight, but too much power!
I was very excited upon recieving this product. It had a great look to it and the weight was impressive--it seemed like the industrial/commercial-type hand mixer I was looking for. Unfortunately, with use, I was quickly disappointed by the power (too much) that it had at the lowest speeds. While the amount of power would have been great at the high end of the spectrum, a speed you might want to build up to, it was way too much at the lowest end. My batter went everywhere! Too bad, I ended up sending it back for this reason.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by Coloradooldtimer Duralit Hand Mixer - Plenty of Power
Hand mixers typically range from wimpy to really wimpy. If you want real mixing action you go to the Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Alas, not every mixing job needs an outboard motor. They do, however, need an effective mixer for small jobs. The Duralit is actually pretty amazing. A bigger motor than all of the rest gives it some real power for heavy mashed potatoes, but doesn't throw whipped cream all over the kitchen.
Neat and clean stainless appearence with a retractable cord (just winds up into the base).
The only deficit, and the reason for only 4 stars, is that it doesn't have a really slow start speed, and can catch you by surprise when it really boogies.
