Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of their favorites! I bought Melissa and Doug's Stamp and Sort Mailbox almost four years ago when our granddaughter was almost three. She loved it and played with it for several years. Now our grandson who is almost four is playing with it. When I am visiting, we always play 'Let's Deliver the Mail". The postage is velcroed on and the kids love opening the bottom door to retrieve the wooden postcards and letters they've mailed. It has been played with for four years now and looks almost new - very durable. I would highly recommend the Stamp and Sort Mailbox for anyone looking for a gift for a child in this age group.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun toy, needs some repair after 1 week. My 2 year old loves this mailbox. She loves the keys to our file cabinet, so I wanted a toy that had a key. Plus an uncle works for the postal service, so it's perfect. The key that came with the toy was too thick to fit in the key hole, so I called and received a new key in a week and a half. This one mostly works, although it still doesn't fit all the way in, so I think the problem is that the key hole is too small. Also, the velcro has fallen off of 3 of the letters/postcards already. Won't be hard to glue back on, and at 2, my daughter is having fun just figuring out which piece of mail goes in which slot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Child Loves It My daughter loves to play at the mailbox in our development. While looking for gift ideas for her 2nd birthday, we found this. Everything is wooden and good quality. She enjoys the velcro-attached stamps and the pictures on those as well as the writing on the letters themselves. Her favorite thing, however, is the key. She loves putting it in the door and turning it, opening and closing it over and over. My only complaint was that everything--including the key--was packed so tightly inside the mailbox itself that it took me a while to get it open. I had to hold it upside down and do a LOT of shaking before everything was clear enough from the locking mechanism so I could turn it to get everything out. I also wish there was somewhere that the key could be attached instead of having to keep it the box so it doesn't get lost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Than Meets The Eye! When my son received this as a gift at 2 1/2 I thought he might be bored with it..was I wrong! Plus, anytime we have a playdate the kids always flock to the mailbox. The mailbox takes shape-sorting to the next level, since the shape is the same on all the letters, just the width and length varies. The turning of the key helps with motor skills. We also read the writing on each letter and postcard, short stories of sort. He loves going to the real post office to mail letters but at home, this is the next best thing!
