I bought Melissa and Doug's Stamp and Sort Mailbox almost four years ago when our granddaughter was almost three. She loved it and played with it for several years. Now our grandson who is almost four is playing with it. When I am visiting, we always play 'Let's Deliver the Mail". The postage is velcroed on and the kids love opening the bottom door to retrieve the wooden postcards and letters they've mailed. It has been played with for four years now and looks almost new - very durable. I would highly recommend the Stamp and Sort Mailbox for anyone looking for a gift for a child in this age group.

I liked the mailbox when I saw it on the website and promptly ordered it for my almost 2 year old son for Christmas. I could tell that it was a shape sorting toy, and my son LOVES mail... easy decision. However, it wasn't until we opened it up that I realized how great it is. The stamps and mail are interchangeable, the mail itself is hilarious to read (the penny saver!), the key is easy to maneuver (and we can manage to open and close the mailbox should the key get lost), and the bottom of the mailbox is lined with material so there's not the constant banging of his other wooden shape sorters. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I know my son will play with it for years to come. Perfect.

This mailbox will work for toddler to tweens and lasts that long with great quality. There are 5 items to mail and 5 different stamps. It is kind of a sorting toys as well as a mailbox for younger kids. Each letter will only fit into one slot. The key is easy to turn and open the box. As much as toddler enjoy this I have seen the tween use it for sending notes to each other. I like that it is a toy that is basic and it is the childs imgination that shapes how the toy is used. Excellent value here.

When my son received this as a gift at 2 1/2 I thought he might be bored with it..was I wrong! Plus, anytime we have a playdate the kids always flock to the mailbox. The mailbox takes shape-sorting to the next level, since the shape is the same on all the letters, just the width and length varies. The turning of the key helps with motor skills. We also read the writing on each letter and postcard, short stories of sort. He loves going to the real post office to mail letters but at home, this is the next best thing!
