I knew my 3 year old son would love these construction trucks, and he does... without all the pieces on top. It is an incredible & educational concept, but it does require some teaching and repetitive modeling. Even I had to look on the box or the underside of each vehicle to see which pieces go where. Also, because of the puzzle-like assembly, the dump truck doesn't lift and dump, but that's okay. I really like this toy set and the idea behind it, and I'll love it once my little one can put them together on his own. For now, my son zooms each one around without the puzzle parts on top. Apparently, if it has wheels, it's cool! :)

I bought these for my son when he was about 18 months old even though it says for 3 and up. He had no problem putting the pieces together and just loved playing trucks with them when they were all together. Now that he is older he has no problem putting them together all by himself. There are pictures on the bottom of each base that shows what the vehicle should look like that he uses all the time to find the pieces he needs.

My 2.5 year old son loves all construction vehicles, so I thought these would be fun. They are OK to assemble. The part I don't like: they fall apart easily so they can't be played with as a construction vehicle. There are other options out there for vehicles that can be assembled, and yet STAY assembled so you can play with them, until you choose to disassemble them. I cannot recommend these.

My son got these as a gift and plays with them on a fairly regular basis (which says a lot, as he has a lot of toys). They toys have about 4 pieces each, and even when he leaves them disassembled, they are easy to put back together (there is even a handy diagram on the underside of each car). They have definitely taken a decent amount of heavy play, and still look to be in good shape.
