Rated 1 out of 5Â by concerned mom confusing for children
was so excited to have my son play with this only to be disappointed. for example if you try to put the square piece into the rectangle spot you would not expect to hear any sound b/c they don't match up but it will still say aloud square. this could be confusing to a child who is trying to learn their shapes. i think if the shape doesn't match up with the correct puzzle piece there should be no sound at all. the child should be rewarded with the correct sound for matching the correct piece with the correct shape. of course kids aren't going to get it right the first time, that is what they are trying to learn. i think this could be confusing for them. i am returning this to the store.

I go home to home to work with young children and this is one of the staples I always have in my bag. the names are clear, the pictures are simple and it is colorful. In order to keep up with the national movement toward mathematics, the name diamond is outdated. It should now be rhombus. I would also love to see an off/on switch so that I can keep the pieces in a baggie for portability. Great toy!

I was really excited about this puzzle because it has the ability to teach shapes and names. However, it is all based on light and shadow. It does not matter if you have the shape in the right spot, if you cover the light from the sensor then it will go off. Dissapointing.

I bought this for my 20 month old for Christmas. By mid January, just from playing with this puzzle, she had learned all of her shapes. She loves playing with it and repeating the word after the voice. Great product! I am going to buy the number and letter puzzles as well!
