i bought my mixer 6 months ago and it was one of the best purchase I've ever made. I bake an average of 20 to 30 cakes per year, not to mention the pies and other deserts. my kitchen aid evenly mixes all my ingredients without me having to wonder will there be flour or sodas in parts not blended well. since I've mixed with this mixer my cakes bake a lot better and I give all my praises to my mixer, there is a big difference. this mixer is very durable and a lot more easer to clean than I could have ever imagine. I tell all my friends and family about my purchase and I also carry a photo of my mixer in my smart phone. love it.

I bought the grain mill thought it was die cast and would last for long time. Unfortunately, after I attached it to the mixer and turned the mixer on, less than two seconds, loud abnormal noise was heard. After about 5 seconds, I turned off the mixer and found the grain (rice) was stuck in the mill and unable to move any parts of the mill. The worst, it damaged the mixer (I believe the gear was damaged) which I bought at the same time and just used once a day before.

My brother in law gave me this mill many years ago. We bake all of our breads and so we bought some hard red winter wheat and voila, flour. The mill is easy to clean and is as dependable as the rain here in NW Oregon. We grind flour and make all our baked goods about once a week and have been doing so for about 5 years. It connects to the Kitchenaid in a few seconds and is always ready to mill flour. I run it on 7 and by the time I have all the rest of the bread ingredients out and measured, the flour is done.

I bought this back in November just because of the dicing feature. It does a great job on tomatoes and potatoes, but does not dice hard boiled eggs without gumming up. It also will not dice cooked chicken without gumming up so if you are looking to do those things look elsewhere, but for making salsa with diced tomatoes it did great. It will do onions fairly well, but gummed up on the peppers. It seems to be very selective in what it will and will not dice. The rest of the operations such as general food processing in the bowls work extremely well although I have not tried to grate cheese with it.
