I bought the iron with some hesitation after reading the reviews. It is heavy, but that's ok, my first use water leaked all over the clothes I was ironing, second use I only ironed 1 item, I adjusted the settings and still got a bit of water on the clothes. I will try it one more time before I return it. The reviews I read did warn of this, so I wasn't really surprised. For the price you pay, it is not worth it if it leaks like that.

Had this iron for a year, and it was great for the first 4 months or so. Then I started noticing that it would dribble small amounts of water when i would iron. I am a quilter and I use it several times a week for a few hours at a time. Over the last several months the dribble became a full leak until the water was simply gushing out any and every crack in the iron. So disappointed in the quality of this iron, I am moving on to non-rowenta pastures. I asked my husband (the original purchaser) to call kohls to warranty it out and he took so long to do so, that by the time he called he had missed the 1 year warranty by a few days.

Does everything you want an iron do extremely well. Has a large ironing surface but tip gets into small spaces. Designed to use tap water; not distilled water. Water reservoir is huge. Great variety of heat settings avoid scorching. Only drawback is that cord does not stay wrapped well; the design of the base does not include a lip to keep the cord from slipping off the bottom, and the clasp on the prong does not securely grab the cord. For the money this iron costs, would expect that attention to detail. All in all, pleased with this purchase, and did not find the iron noticeably heavier than other I have used in the past (as was suggested by other reviewers).

This iron is fantastic in the beginning, but around the 1 year mark it starts leaking where the power cord enters the iron. I have had this happen to me on this specific model three different times now. After some time the iron will just start leaking and I don't mean dribbling. I could have the iron sitting on the ironing board, walk out of the room and come back to a big puddle on the floor because it empty all the water in the iron. If I wasn't getting these replaced for free I would've moved on a long time ago. If Rowenta can fix the leaking issues this iron would be 5 stars all the way.
