Rated 3 out of 5Â by Kalola Cute suit with a few "buts"
I have been a fan of iplay swimswear since my daughter was an infant. I love the adorable print of this suit, and the style is, overall, very cute, but beware the site's description. (1) The straps do not cross in the back, as the item description states. (2) There is no mention of this, but inside the bottom of the suit is a sewn-in swim diaper cover made of white nonstretch polyester. Know that it is not the "ultimate swim diaper" with the built-in padding that most iplay suits have. I was actually looking for a suit without any swim diaper or diaper cover, as my daughter is fully potty-trained and does not need this, so finding the diaper cover in the suit was a bit of a surprise. It is a bit snug around the waist and legs, as swim diapers are supposed to be, so it seems slightly uncomfortable on my daughter, but she doesn't mind too terribly. Also (3) the suit is actually not tagged as iplay brand, but instead, it bears tags inside and out that say "Water Wear." I discovered during a quick internet search that "Water Wear" is a trademark of iplay, though, so apparently they are one and the same. (4) The side ties that you see in the photo are not built in or sewn in, but they are ruching ties that you have to cinch and tie yourself. The shoulder straps are also somewhat adjustable -- or perhaps I should say, rather, that the front and back neckline is somewhat adjustable. The shoulder straps actually are one continuous strap that loops through the front neckline, so the fabric on the front kind of slides around on the strap. Hard to explain, but you'll see what I mean. Overall, it is a good suit, fine quality for a toddler who swims occasionally or even on a regular basis. The fit seems true to size and doesn't appear to ride up.
