This is a lovely pitcher, and I would have kept it if it was as advertised. It states that this pitcher is 3 1/4 liters. This pitcher cannot be more than 2 quarts, if that, which is 1.89 liters. I was looking for a large pitcher....I already have a pitcher this size, so I'll have to return it. I didn't test it to see actually how much it holds because of returning it new. I wish they made this kind of pitcher in a large size, but be aware that this is a rather small pitcher. I don't know why it states 3 1/4 liters, even on the pitcher's label. It's misleading.
Rated 2 out of 5Â by LoRane Barely holds 2 Qts
Unfortunatley, this BEAUTIFUL pitcher has the wrong capacity info listed. According to the website it holds over 3 liters - almost a gallon. However, it most certainly does NOT. You have to fill it about half an inch from the top just to put 2 Qts in it. Makes a mess when stirring any beverage mix designed for 2 Qts, iced tea, kool-aid, etc. Guess, I'll have to return it, not practical for me. Not sure why they couldn't have made it a hair bigger to accomodate 2 Qts - not to mention listing the wrong size!!!
Rated 4 out of 5Â by RichardW Great Pitcher, but hand wash??
I purchased one of these recently and it is the perfect size for entertaining. It also is made of a very thick and sturdy plastic. However, I am lost as to the instructions that this is a "hand wash" item only. It must be an error or put on the package by someone who considers anything "hand wash" or all clothes "dry clean only". The material this is made of is far sturdier than most items I put in my dishwasher so I see no reason why it's not dishwasher safe and it comes out of mine spotless.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by cmcjiff Too bad they didn't make this 2-Qts
This is such a lovely style, but it is unfortunate that it is 1 1/2 cups short of 2 Qts. It would've been perfect if they had only made it 2 Qts. Also, I find the spout to be a little too narrow making the pour slow. I plan to use it as a serving peice for those dinners with guests. I mean, I use it now, but we always have at least 2 pitchers of tea at a time so the other 1 1/2 cups of tea usually go in the other pitcher which is a standard 2 Qt.
