The only good thing is the bowl! The blades are difficult to insert and remove. Very disappointing. Clearly the Oneida name, which used to mean quality, doesn't mean much these days. Doesn't even say if it is dishwasher safe or not.

I could not believe the awfulness of this product. It's only getting one star from me because, well, for one you have to but two, I do think the basic design is great! I thought the ability to slice items directly into a bowl was a fantastic idea but like the other posted comments, you can't even slice butter with this thing!! I could not get it to slice through anything just once through. Not once! Save yourself time, money and aggravation by avoiding this product!

I thought this was a very nice looking set and easy to store. The main blade was just too dull to cut room temp potatoes and onions but worked for icebox cold carrots. While doing the best I could with slicing a potato the handle to feed the vegetable comes up short in finishing the task, so I am left with nearly an inch to hand slice. So if all I did was cold vegetables maybe it would be a keeper.

I bought this slicer because I've been getting into making soup and was sick of slicing the veggies. I used it for the first time to slice onions and it was a major fail. The blade wasn't sharp enough and the onion kept falling apart in the holder it gives you. It made no sense when I tried to use a smaller onion to. Not happy
