What The Pros Know:

  • Dutch ovens are perfect for braising — cooking at a low temperature partially submerged in gently simmering liquid.
  • Braising makes tough (and inexpensive) cuts of meat tender, and gives you a great sauce, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by efficiency and style This was my first venture into getting a cast iron dutch oven and preparing a dish. I like to slow cook meats, stews and beans, especially during the fall and winter months. I figured I would start small so I made beans, and the beans cooked up very well (full boil and tender) so I have no complaints. I do not slow cook often, so I should have the pot for many years. I plan to purchase a larger pot in the future for bigger meat dishes. It looks attractive in my kitchen, the size is great (3.5), and cleaning it was easy. I like Food Network's product line, and have many of their items. Overall, the price and value made me a very satisfied customer. 10/10/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it I ordered this for my husband because he wanted one smaller than the 5 qt. he has, but I have used it more than him. I love the size. It is great for frying and baking, as well as for soups, etc. The size is perfect for us. 02/03/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dutch Oven I find this product to work really well. I've used it 3 times in the last month. All food came out delicious. I love the green color as well. The clean up was very easy as well. My only wish is that I would have gotten one a little larger. 02/03/2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Enamel came off Bought in March of 2014 and used is about once a month on average. The enamel started to crack and has chipped off. This is the second Foornetwork product that I have had and it is a waste of money. 01/21/2015
