What The Pros Know:

  • Dutch ovens are perfect for braising — cooking at low temperature partially submerged in gently simmering liquid.
  • Braising makes tough (and inexpensive) cuts of meat tender, and gives you a great sauce, too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Shopper beware If you have your heart set on a specific color or style show, be careful about your order. Above is the style I ordered (gray ombre) and below is what I got. Color is close but rough textured, and from talking customer service they attached the pictures of this year's model to last years style, so if you want a matching set they wont match. Had to reorder repay and return in store. 12/16/2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk Enamel chipped off after one use. Went back the next day. Don't waste your money. 02/06/2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Waste of money I used my Food Network enameled dutch oven less than ten times and the enamel has begun to crack off the bottom and the lid. It was the best present my husband had given me and I tenderly hand washed it and lectured him about not chipping the enamel. When going to wash it, I felt a bubble in the bottom and then pieces of the enamel cracked off. I could just pick it off in chunks. Puzzled, I looked at the lid and noticed a dark spot on one of the dimples and touched it only to find that I could crumble the enamel off the lid too. I expected it to last a lot longer given the high cost and am very disappointed at the horrible quality. I will never buy Food Network products again. 12/31/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Love this and hate it! I love cooking with this product! BUT DON'T BUY IT!!! I bought one and after 3 months of use the enamal came off on the inside of the bottom. I returned it thinking it was just a defective one and got a new one. I really babied my new one being so careful with it. After only a week there was already a chip on the outside but figured that would not affect the use. Yesterday I made whole pot of soup and everyone started asking what the crunchies in the soup were. Got looking and sure enough the enamal on bottom came up again! So disappointed because I love cooking with it so much! 10/21/2013
