Rated 4 out of 5Â by OmegaMoon2000 Excellent alternative to more expensive Rowentas
For the price, this unit is an excellent value when compared to more expensive Rowenta models. Comparable build quality, very lightweight, easy to handle, and above average steam. Great ergonomics with simple to use controls, easy-to-read LED display, and a convenient power (on/off) switch. The unit produces above average steam and effectively stays at its temperature setting. Large water tank prevents frequent refills. This model carries a generous two (2) year warranty.
Almost perfect but very minor negatives include:
Narrow base makes the unit less stable when placed vertically.
Rated 5 out of 5Â by HappySeamstress Best Iron I have owned
I was not aware that Singer even made irons but this got good reviews and I thought I'd take a chance. I have owned many irons in my lifetime including a very expensive name brand iron but this one beats it hands down in all areas. If you are used to lighter irons, do not purchase this one as it is a little on the heavy side but in my opininon that is the sign of a good iron. You need the weight of the iron and the steam to be perform effectively especially if you are a seamstress and using this next to your sewing machine.
Rated 5 out of 5Â by Skibabe High quality iron
I used this iron at all of the different temp settings and it performed very well; it has a wonderful smooth glide and the steam disperses evenly, no water spots on the fabrics; I did decide to use distilled water as our water is very hard and they do not recommend using water from a water softener. There was slight spitting when brought to upright position after ironing in steam setting, but this did not translate into water spots on the fabric when ironing was resumed. I am very happy with this iron.
