Rated 4 out of 5 by It's a good little vac I purchased this to replace a really, really bad handheld vac by the same brand. I actually would have never purchased this brand again because of that, but my hubby picked this one out. I'm glad he did because I was pleasantly surprised. This handheld packs good suction that actually lasts between charging and it boasts a sleek design. It's not too heavy--even my young kids like to help out with it. The only thing I've had a problem with is emptying it. The concept to just push the two side buttons to release and dump was great--but it doesn't work too well. Some of the dirt and debris gets stuck and you end up having to take the filter out to get the rest. Still, not bad overall. The dirt cup holds a good bit so you don't have to empty every time. We've had it for a couple weeks now, let's just hope this one lasts! 11/29/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Really picks up material! An all around good hand vac! It's lasted me 5 years; however looking for a replacement battery as it will no longer hold a charge! Charger is still good so no problem there. Typical of today's throw away mentality. Guess I will dissemble and adapt a NiMH battery to it! 07/13/2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by A quick answer to an annoying problem Where we live there have been many stink bugs. I am so tired of killing them. So my hubby came up with this idea to just suck them up in the hand held vac and dispose of them. Works great and I dont have to worry about touching anything. I also use if for a crumb catcher for kids. All the bug traps I have tried dont work. This is easy and no mess. 10/28/2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by You get (a little less than) what you pay for. Worked great for about 6 months used only for cleaning up bird food and feathers, never vacuumed anything wet. Properly maintained, always emptied after use, safe storage, never dropped. Battery life gradually decreased a lot quicker than expected, after 10 months it completely quit, would not accept charge or power on. Used every other day, charged immediately after used or until performance started decreasing rapidly. Stored on full charge. No damage to charger, but took it upon myself to investigate the cause, since I wasn't going to make a warranty claim on a $40 handheld vacuum that I bought from Wal-Mart one year ago. Positive terminal solder joint on the motor was corroded, and ALL of the battery cells ( x9 1.2V 1300mAh Ni-Cd) were leaking white powder inside the case. Several wires inside the casing were pinched, and one was pinched so bad that the core of the wire was exposed, also corroded. 3 out of 5 because it did work well at first, but failed due to very poor build quality, and batteries are installed to be unserviceable. I guess that I ended up getting my $40 out of it, but unfortunately won't buy another one... but I still believe Dyson is asking way more than their products are worth even if the design is top notch, they cost 5-10x more (handhelds sell from $240-$550) and still have only 3 yr warranty, which is the same as Dirt Devil, but less than Shark's 5yr Limited Warranty for AC powered unit that doesn't have as much portability... 07/01/2015
