Love this piece - needed something to keep my kids and visitors from cluttering up my entry way. Easy to put together.

Nice bench decent quality, just seems smaller than in the pictures, medium difficulty putting together with lining up all the wood pegs. Priced a little high for the product.

The product is great I wish the instructions were a little more in detail but other than that everything was great!!!!!!

The good: It's beautiful; it really is. I think it's a perfect size - doesn't take up too much space in the entry way, but still large enough to hold several pairs of shoes, and for all 3 kids to sit on to put on/take off their shoes. It stores a size 13 men's shoe with nothing sticking out, and I can get some of my shoes two per cubby so it can hold more (see picture). The baskets are very convenient for things like hats and gloves in the winter. It's sturdy construction and a great quality for the price.
What could be improved: The cushion is cheap, thin, and ugly. It actually looks better without it. It also slides, so I'd recommend buying a rug mat to put under the cushion to prevent it from sliding if you elect to keep it. Also, I highly recommend buying some felt sheets to go under the baskets. The wicker scrapes against the wood when you slide them out and leaves scratches. Go buy 3 felt sheets and hot glue them onto the bottom of the baskets - you'll be glad you did.
Assembly: the instructions could be a little better and it's not the easiest thing to assemble, but it's not overly difficult either. I did it by myself in about 30 minutes but I recommend having 2 people as it would be easier to have one to hold things in place and another to attach pieces. The instructions say you only need a Philips head, but I'd get a flat head too; the bolts turn easier with a flat head and make it more secure. The instructions show the entire installation with the bench on its side, but it's much easier to turn it upside-down to attach the bottom piece, and then right-side up to attach the top - trust me on that one. If you are going to add the cloth strip over the bolt holes, do it before you put the back cover on; the instructions have it after and it's more difficult that way. Also, the cloth strips for over the bolts aren't a good color match, so I'm not sure what good they do (see lower edges in picture).
Overall: I highly recommend this SEI Chelmsford Entryway Shoe Bench. The only negatives to me are the cushion quality and the baskets scratching against the wood - both of these are easy fixes and certainly shouldn't detract from buying the bench. The positives - good quality, good size, beautiful outweigh the negatives by a lot.
