Rated 5 out of 5Â by Maggyaz Perfect for what it is
I rated this on the basis of fulfilling its description and purpose, this is not an expensive piece of furniture but it is easy to put together, nicely designed with a tiny bit of flair to the trim, not completely boxy looking, and you have choices of finish. I did follow one reviewer's advice and picked up metal pegs instead of using the very cheap plastic ones that come with this set. That's the only reason the quality has a Good and not an Excellent. I wanted this for a bookshelf and it was going to bear some weight.

I bought this little bookshelf to store my granddaughters books on. It was easy to put together and fairly sturdy. I like the espresso finish. It works perfectly for her books and puzzles. She is 2 and is able to reach everything on it and I don't have to worry about it tipping over on her. The adjustable shelf is nice so that taller books can be accommodated.

All the parts were in the box and assembly was easy. I purchased two of these bookcases and I was able to assemble each one in about an hour (I am a 64 year old lady). You will need to nail the back on, but who looks at the back to see how it is assembled? I have had many compliments on the new bookcases.

Typical assemble-it-yourself, veneer covered particle board piece with bad, really no instructions, just diagrams, but not difficult if you use some logic and familiarize yourself with all the pieces. One critical piece, the front kick board under the bottom shelf was broken in half. I needed the book case ASAP so I glued the piece and braced it on the back where the break wouldn't show too badly. I did call Pre-Pac, the manufacturer, and they were terrific. They found my Kohl's order and are sending out a new kick board. I'll have to take the book case apart to replace it but it won't be a horrible job. If you are going to put heavy books on the adjustable shelf, I ***strongly*** suggest getting some metal shelf clips. The plastic ones that shipped with the bookcase are small and will definitely not hold much weight. Once assembled, the book case is stable and tight.
