Rated 4 out of 5 by a little awkward I purchased this steamer in hopes of getting out the door quicker in the morning and not leaving an ironing board out all day - it does take "me" longer to get the wrinkles out of the clothes, but the more I do the faster I get - its all getting use to "ironing" a different way - it works perfectly in my bathroom and is out of the way even tho it hangs all day - I didn't love this product at first, but am hoping I will after more practice - I don't have a problem with the weight - it is a bit awkward getting use to 02/08/2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not satisfied with this product I purchased the Shark for pressing of curtains, upholstery and large items. The unit itself is too heavy for easy manipulation. The steam flow is okay but it takes longer than expected to smooth out wrinkles. I thought there would be a saving of time with the Shark bit I found it to take as long as ironing. I returned the Shark Press & refresh system. I will use my iron from now on. 11/01/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by It works great This was a last minute purchase right before my daughter's wedding. We needed it to iron our the long (8 foot) satin table runners that were folded into 8" lengths. It took a whle to get used to using it, but it worked great. It wasn't too heavy to use, and the thermal backing that you use to hang on a door worked fantastic fo thes runners. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for one. 10/15/2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Decent Steamer for Beginners This steamer gets the job done, but it doesn't compare to any upright steamer (any regular steamer; does not need to be a professional mode) due to the amount of steam it produces. The heat bar/wrinkle eraser bar is nice (and really the only effective portion of the device,) but you need to apply decent pressure against whatever you are steaming in order to get it to work properly. I didn't use the door pad because at that point, you're basically ironing with 1/8th of the surface area and a little more steam. If this unit produced more steam, I would absolutely love it. However, due to the low steam projection, it doesn't really accomplish much and it takes much longer to steam a garment than I'm used to. I compared it to my upright steamer (entry-level Con-Air,) and the upright projected steam about 6 inches, while this Shark model only projected about 1 inch. The distance itself is a little arbitrary, but it's more of an indication of the volume of steam being produced. The larger amount of steam in my old upright far outweighs the benefits of the device being handheld with no hose to deal with, so I am returning this Shark and going back to my old upright. Long review short: this is a good steamer for people who are used to ironing and considering this as their first steamer. It WILL save you some time and frustration over ironing. However, if you've used a regular steamer before, this will be a bit of a disappointment. 04/27/2015
