We bought this bread machine to replace our old zojirushi machine we had had for 20 or so years. we didn't use the old one much and decided to replace it just because it was so old. the new machine is fabulous. it bakes a loaf of bread horizontally, not vertically as in the old machine. there are two paddles instead of just one. the instruction booklet is very user friendly and contains many recipes which i am anxious to try. the machine is very easy to use. i love the delay timer. one morning when we got up, the bread was in its baking cycle and we had fresh, hot bread for breakfast. excellent machine and easy to clean. we recommend it highly!!!

This machine makes delious bread. It makes a 2 pound loaf which is taller but not longer than store bought bread. The texture is good. The are no preservatives in this bread inwhich it lasts longer than a few days. The machine is extremely easy to use. The only clean up is the bread pan itself. I wish I would have known about this wonderful bread machine years ago. I bought this bread machine beause where I use to buy my perservative free bread, they discontinued it. So, I gave this a try and I'm glad I did and where I bought my bread before I'm also glad they discontinued it or I would've never discovered this wonderful bread machine. The bread tastes real good!

I used this machine twice a week. It makes a 2 pound loaf perfect every time. I have only made bread with it. I bought it because it is a loaf pan, so you can easily slice the bread to make sandwiches with it, unlike most conventional bread makers whick make a tall round loaf. It has 2 kneading blades instead of just one. Its a solid built machine, however it gets a little shakey when its kneading the dough. It also does not have settings for smaller loaves, only for a 2lb. It has other features on it to make jams jellies and meatloaf, I have not tested those. Overall a great machine but very pricey campared to the competition.

I really like this machine. It replaces my R2D2 machine which was more fun to watch!
You'll have to experiment with the recipes. The white bread recipe that comes with the machine calls for 4 tablespoons of sugar! I cut the sugar (to one tablespoon) and flour (to 3 1/2 cups) to make a more manageable and better tasting loaf. I also add 1/4 teaspoon of powdered ginger.
The bread doesn't always rise evenly, but that could be because I haven't perfected the recipe. The loaves usually don't brown evenly, being lighter in color on the right side (near where the elements emerge from the control box). This is minor as the taste is unaffected as far as I'm concerned.
