My daughter is 5 and we homeschool her. She is in kindergarten this year and we love to use the calendar not just to mark special days but so that she can learn the days of the week, the month, the year, and the spacific date. My biggest downside is that I want to be able to buy extra preprinted tiles. It would be really nice if they sold a seperate kit of them that included: More Birthday Tiles Aniversary Tiles More Play oreinted Tiles (IE: Play with Friends, Ride Bike, Sleep over, Etc) More Sports tiles (IE: Sports Practice and Sports Game Tiles that dont need to be one sport spacific) 5-10 Church Tiles A vacation ends tile

I borrowed this from a friend and fell in love! My kids are waiting for their to arrive and are excited to be able to create a calendar like they do at daycare/preschool. I am going to buy some magnet sheets or rolls and we are going to create some of our own magnets to put on the calendar for the birthdays and special family events. I think we may use our own real pictures to do this. I think that as excited as they are that why not make is more personalized for our family!

We've had this calendar for a couple of years now and not only has it held up well, but it has been a great teaching tool. We have two children, ages 9 and 5, and both have really had fun using it. The surface is like a dry-erase board so you can write on it and wipe it off. Very handy! My only "complaint" is that there's no blanks for spare holiday magnets or dates in case one gets lost or you need to modify the calendar some other way.

Great product for helping the young understand the days of the week, current month, and activities that go on within them. Only downfall is that there are not enough blank tiles to add own events. Having tiles that represent "today, tomorrow, and yesterday" would be great for children to see what day they are on for upcoming events. I thought the extra tiles/whiteboard would be attached behind the calendar out of sight (going to add velcro to mine).
