My 3-year-old+ granddaughter likes to "help" me with my adult jigsaw puzzles, and I thought this would be a great bridge between the easy match the shape/picture puzzles to jigsaws. The picture itself is cool and vibrant, but there are two problems with this item: first, the pieces are REALLY hard to get apart and thus put back together; second, there is no picture to show where the pieces are to go except for on the back of the wooden frame that holds the puzzle... huh? Who thought of that?! Thought this would be great, will have to see if she likes it enough to keep with it.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Glenridgelover Great! As all M&D's puzzles!!
My 3-year old son loves puzzles, he has about 10 different types of Melissa & Doug's wooden puzzles and started working on them when he was barely 2. Loves building them over and over again, especially on rainy/grey mornings. Wooden puzzles are very durable, especially when you have more than one child, and my 16-month old little girl does not let him play in peace (loves throwing the pieces all over the room)unless he's sitting at the table, away from her grabby hands. My daughter has other types of M&D's puzzles, the one with little barn animals or musical instrument to fit in their own place. Pointless to say that both my children adore them! And me too!!!
Rated 4 out of 5Â by Traci Beautiful, but Top Peels
My son loves this puzzle: the picture is exciting and the pieces are perfectly sized for his hands. We have had problems with the picture peeling off at the edges of the pieces since the first day of use. It can be glued back on with Elmer's glue, but that requires the piece being put up for an hour or so. I've had other products from M&D that were much better quality, although I don't think we've had anything he has loved this much. I would recommend to a friend, but would warn about the peeling issue.
