Very nice puzzle. My 4yo got tired of doing his really big USA puzzle and so I thought this would be a new addition in doing the world map. The shapes are a bit irregular and do not fit like a puzzle. You just have to assemble them together and so this is a little difficult for my 4yo. Also, I think it is too much for him to do at this stage. With me giving directions, he is able to do the puzzle and if I do this with him another 2-3 times he would memorize it enough to do on his own, but I want to wait it out till he turns 5 or 6 and do it on his own. So this is more appropriate for older kids. It does say so on the puzzle too, I just got it a bit too early for my ds.

My children love it . Will appreciate if name of countries are written on them for identification purposes.

My son and daughter (3-5 age group) loved to put this puzzle together. I helped them the first time and they were doing it every day the first 2 weeks. Not only helps them learn on putting it together but to learn the continents and oceans. The new toy zeal was gone in about 2-3 wks as they know how to do it now, but probably worth it as they get to learn some thing.

My 3 year old son likes maps and really enjoyed the wooden U.S. Melissa and Doug puzzle. I thought he would like this one as well. It's an average product. The pieces don't hook together so they slide apart when putting the other pieces in. My son got frustrated because of this. It does offer a nice big picture of all the continents.
