Rated 5 out of 5Â by ChristmasMomOfFive Sturdy with plenty of room to play
I just assembled this table last night. It was fairly easy and the instructions were simple to follow. My only issue came at the very end when I was installing the four cross brackets on each corner. The flat head screws that are provided simply do not penetrate. There are no starter holes and there is no way this could be done with a manual screwdriver. I had to get sharp tipped screws but had no issues after that. The table is really nice with a lot of play space. Love the handy storage drawer. I got this table as a Christmas gift for my little girls to display their Calico Critters dollhouses, etc on.

We purchased this table 5 years ago for my two boys to play with their trains. They have since grown out of trains and into Legos. I repurposed this table by gluing Lego base plates to one side and painting the other side with chalkboard paint (I would not recommend doing this if you're worried about ruining the table or if you plan to not keep for a long time and resell). They still use this everyday. It's held up extremely well considering how hard they are on everything. I love many things about this table over other tables I've seen but the one thing that makes this one so awesome to suit my needs is the fact that you can take off, move and flip over the green surface. This has made it easy to keep clean and easier to use it for multiple different things.

I am very disappointed with this table. First, the sides are only half-wall. A small child can crawl underneath the toy. When you look at the underside, the drawer is exposed, so it is not even suitable to underneath storage. There is only one small drawer where there is ample space for two large drawers. The drawer is only held on by one dowel. One of the supports for the top was stripped, so I cannot secure it. Also, the top is supposed to be reversible but the underneath is just a rough unfinished section. I would not buy recommend this to anyone.

This table looks great and is going to be great for our son, but we were pretty disappointed with the quality. When putting the table together, we discovered a few issues: 1. one of the pieces (#3) was too narrow to fit where it was supposed to. 2. one of the pieces (#2) only had 2 holes drilled for the barrel nuts, so we had to drill the rest ourselves 3. the #8 barrel nut only went halfway in. We pressed on it and a piece of the laminate popped off. We had to glue the piece back on. Again, this is a great table and we're very happy with it, but we were pretty disappointed in the quality, given the price and reputation of the Melissa and Doug products. We expected it to be perfect!! :)
