Rated 3 out of 5 by New Jersey is terrible Big fan of M&D products but I must say I was disappointed by the representation of New Jersey on the map. This is our state so I naturally wanted to show my daughter NJ first. First, it is lumped together with 5 states. We couldn't even get our own piece. Second, there is the mis-shape. Come on people. It looks like a telephone receiver. This is not the shape of NJ. Lastly, we have no representation for what the state is known for. It is the garden state. Show me a tomato! I am saddened by what has transpired here. 12/27/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Product I got this puzzle for my daughter when she was between 3 and 3.5 years old. She is advanced for her age at puzzles and I had difficulty finding a puzzle that was challenging enough, yet with peices she could handle. This puzzle fit exactly what I was looking for and she still asks to do it. It has taught her many of the states, and I relearned them while helping her with it. My daughter has many puzzles, and I'd say that this is a favorite for both of us. She loves learning about the states and I love that she is being educated and that the product is so sturdy. I like this product enough that I am considering getting the world map puzzle that is similar to this for Christmas or her 4th birthday. 12/14/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by The "Talking" version of this map. Couldn't find the talking puzzle on the site, but my daughter received the USA map that said the name of the state and the capitals. On the second day of use, it shorted out. It began to work again (talking on its own late at night...creepy) but then continued to short out. Don't buy the electronic one....stick to the regular. Also, the pieces are small...maybe too small until the child is about 5 or 6. 07/29/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Educational I bought this puzzle for my three year old grandchildren. It was too hard for them because the pieces mirror the shapes of the states. That's good for older children, of course, but too difficult for younger ones to assemble. With puzzles of scenes, they can assemble the pieces by linking shapes and color schemes. I'm looking forward, though, to giving them the gift when they older. 03/10/2013
