This blender was a replacement for a previous one that wouldn't crush blueberries, let alone ice. This one seems to do a consistent job, but I am having to modify my recipes for smoothies to add more liquid. I am not sure why the recipe would have to change, but I think it may be blending the food finer making it more like paste. However, it does a good job of blending and crushing the fruits for my smoothies and I am happy with it so far. Long term performance is where I get the most bang for my buck and I haven't had it for more than 2 weeks so far.

I am quite disappointed because I always believed in the Black and Decker brand name. This blender is very loud. I like to make a smoothie to go early in the morning but hated to use it when other family members were still sleeping. It sometimes would take 3 or 4 attempts to make one drink with having to poke around the pitcher with a knife to move the fruit and the ice. But I guess you get what you pay for. This blender finally died after 6 months and I am happy that now I can buy a better one. Like the other review said: I hated this blender! The only thing I liked was the glass pitcher instead of plastic and that is why I bought it.

My use of this product has been limited to making breadcrumbs as it would not work for pesto, my original reason for buying it 2 1/2 years ago. Today, it gave out completely with a plastic piece on the bottom coming apart while in use. The container has always been difficult to attach to the base, causing the pitcher to "unwind" from the base and start to fly off. It's going back to Kohl's, not with the hope of receiving any refund, but with the hope that they will inform Black and Decker what a bad product they have with this blender.

I use this product each morning and it is easy as pie to use. I have never in my life had an appliance I liked so much and get so much use out of. The booklet that comes with it has incorrect information so I will state that the 'high' button is for the upper tier of processes and the 'low' is for the lower tier. To get more power, push the high in with whatever you are doing and if you need less, let the button stay out. Also, be sure to pulse a few times no matter what you are making.
I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!!!
