It wasn't hard to put together. We got to cook on it the same day. It took a little bit to figure out what height to put grilling part on with the coal but we got it down. It works well. I do have to say though I am not sure if its the design or cause I always used gas before, but it burns hot and high but cools off faster than I think it should. So it works good for us. We have small cook out but if have a big family and want to use for long lengths of time you might want a bigger one or gas.

I have or have had a "Weber"; a gas grill; a Santa Maria style with lowering grate on axle. I now use this product almost exclusively.
Being able to raise or lower fuel ( charcoal bed) adds the most efficient capability.
The second rack smokes well. I use a combination of briquettes and red oak chunks or other smoke alternatives.
I live on the coast, and have to watch rust, but good seasoning helps. Product quality is ok, given the price. Webers are better quality, but I'll give that up for fuel savings and adjustability. Our weather here is so mild we grill all year long.
Assembly could have been better.

Up until a couple of months ago I was a gas griller. I tried all types of seasoning recipes to try and enhance the taste of the food that I was grilling, but it would always fall way short of my expectations, the food tasted bland. Then I decided to try charcoal . Once that first steak was cooked on charcoal, I haven't looked back. The Char-Broil unit is now my favorite piece of kitchen equipment. Ribs, Chicken, beef you name it ,taste the way it should with charcoal. There is nothing like going out at least 3-4 times a week and firing up my Char-Broil grill and experiencing the culinary delights that are produced from it.
