Rated 5 out of 5 by A mighty grinder!! This is the first year in a long time I attempted to make cucidada, an Italian fig cookie, reason being...the grinding of the figs!!! What a pain. I usually used a food processer, with much ado. I purchased this attachment for my kitchen aid and when I received it I never thought it would handle the job since it was plastic and looked chintzy. Boy, was I surprised! 5 pounds of figs ground PERFECTLY in less than1/2 hour, a job usually taking about 2 hours. I AM HAPPY with this attachment thus far. Looking forward to making some sausage and jelly! So, don't be fooled by its looks. Works great and cleans just as easily. 12/31/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Terrific attidion to my Kitchen aid mixer The vegetable strainer and food grinder attchement is an amazing attachment. It really expanded the capabilityes of my kitchen aid mixer. We have used it not only to grind meats and vegetables and nuts but also to juice grapes for grape juice, tomatoes for spagetti Sauce, and salsa, berries to make jelly, and apples for applesauce. If you have never had home made applesauce you don't know what you are missing. It makes it all so easy, the pulp and juice goes into the bowl and the skins and seeds go out the end of the cone. It makes it so easy and leaves so little waste. I liked mine so much I bought two more as gifts. 11/17/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fruit/Vegetable Strainer Set - works great!! I purchased this strainer set last year and used it to make plum jam and just this week, I am using it to make tomato sauce. I was AMAZED at how nicely it worked - I processed a bushel of tomatoes in less than an hour - No coring, no cooking needed! But I do recommend using Roma Tomatoes which are much better for cooking sauce. I also learned that if you add Tomato Paste to your sauce while cooking - it does thicken the sauce and it cooks up faster. Another good trick - Re-process your discarded seeds & skins 2 or 3 more times. You'd be surprised at how much more puree you'll get from that. I ended up recovering nearly 4 more cups of puree by reprocessing my discards. Much easier than boiling - and skinning!! 08/26/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Grinder is great. I haven't used the vegetable strainer yet, but the meat grinder was great. Used it to make grind venison for chili and also to make sausages with the sausage stuffer attachment. It was really a breeze. I did have to stop once to get some of the tendons out that were making the grinder clog up, but other than that I had no problems. For cleanup it comes apart and most of the pieces go in the dishwasher (only a couple easy metal pieces are hand wash). That gets it mostly clean; however, there was a piece of meat in a nook that I could reach, and a typical dish-brush doesn't fit. I tried to clean it with a rag and what I had in the kitchen, but I'm planning on buying a brush (like what you'd use for cleaning bottles) to clean it next time I use it. 12/04/2011
