Same issue with the residue, but it would be SO MUCH MORE HELPFUL if corporate feedback would reply with more than just a thanks and please email us. This does absolutely nothing to help the rest of us who have the same issue, are considering buying, asking about a newer model/improved model, etc.

This is my second wire whip attachment for my kitchen aid mixer. I use the wire attachment only for whipping egg whites and for making frosting. The first attachment that came with the mixer lasted a number of years before one of the wires broke away from where it attaches at the top. So I replaced it with this one from Kohl's. The new one has hardly been used and one of the wires has once again broke away from where it attaches. The quality of the mixer is top notch but I can't say the same about this wire whip attachment.

Got the stand mixer for my wedding 6 months ago, Made too much noice when I used the wire whip, within a few uses the wire came out and it was a hustle to put it back just for it to come right out as soon as I used it again. Purchased a replacement after a few months since I Didn't get a gift receipt and didn't know where it was purchased. Once again the wire is out and I can't use my great mixer again! What happened to the old whips they used to make my grandma's lasted her a lifetime. Very disappointed because I love my mixer.

Metallic substance rubs off from the part of the whip (aluminum) which attaches to the mixer. The wires are stainless steel though so are fine. I see the newer models are all stainless steel & really want that. But now I'm caught with a tough decision...buy a new whip which will eventually have metallic substance rub off or just buy a newer model when I spent hundreds to buy my current mixer??
