Need to replace the beater due to the fact the powder coating is chipping off on the sides and bottom of the beater. I read the all the reviews about the beater with the powder coating coming off and was very much surprised to see all the other comments regarding the same identical issue I am experiencing. With Kitchen Aide experiencing the identical issue on the beater why would you not manufacturer a stainless steel beater or at least some other type of metal or coating that would last.

I am having to order my second replacement beater for my Artisan KSM150PSMC due to chipping paint/coating. The first time I thought it was a fluke, now I see it's more than that. KitchenAid is better than this!

I've had my mixer for at least 15 yrs. My coated beater is fine, but I always hand wash it. Could it be the dishwasher is causing the issue of flaking off, even though it says dishwasher safe? But on another note, I purchased the new KA coated beater (KFEST) with the silicone flex on the edge of the beater (not shown on this site?) It's supposed to scrape the sides better so you don't have to stop as often. Well, it makes the wet ingredients fly out the bowl, and even after incorporated say for frosting, the mixture creeps up the side of the bowl to the top. I think I scrape more with the new one. I'm not a fan, so I may return it.

I must say my KitchenAid mixer changed my life in the kitchen! I use it for everything I possibly can! I never put the parts in the dishwasher, yet the enamel is chipping off of the flat beater...the beater I use almost daily. This renders the mixer useless, I am afraid of the next chip going into food I am making. I cannot recommend this product until the flat beater is made to last... Then it will be the perfect addition to any kitchen! I would actually like to purchase one for our daughter as a wedding gift...if the beater is improved. I wonder if it can be replaced without cost, as it is obviously a flaw??
