Rated 1 out of 5 by Not once, but twice! Based on reviews by Consumer Reports, I purchased a Mr. Coffee JWX Series 12-cup coffeemaker about 2 or 2-1/2 years ago. It worked fine for a while, but after about a year the coffee was not brewing properly; the half of the grounds were dry; the coffee had not stepped properly. I wrote to the company, and was surprised and delighted in August 2013 when they sent me a new Mr. Coffee JWX Series. The new Mr. Coffee worked fine ... for a while. Now the same problem is occurring; some of the grounds remain dry. I see that Consumer Reports still rates this product high, but the "brew performance is "good" (not very good or excellent). I would not recommend this product! 09/26/2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Design Defect I am looking for a new coffee pot because I found two dead spiders in my old 4-cup Mr Coffee maker. This product has a defect in the design; the lid on top is inserted in the top and not a cover. Thus any dirt on top of the coffee maker will fall inside where the water is and I don’t want dust in my coffee. Let’s say one wipes the dust off the top of the coffee maker, all that dust will go into the opening and into the drinking water. This is gross and lacks thought. I also saw this defect in the 5-cup and another name brand. 10/22/2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointed I bought his coffeemaker about 2 months ago and the brew basket has broken. I can no longer use pause and serve so you have to wait until the whole carafe is full before you can take a cup of coffee. Even then, the water is still running out and goes all over. I still have to put 3-4 paper towels under the carafe area when I do pour a cup to catch the excess coffee that is still coming out. There is no replacement brew basket that I can find to order so now I have to buy another coffeemaker. I would not recommend this product. 10/05/2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mr. Coffee 12 cup programmable I got this about 6 months ago and I am NOT happy.... If I had my receipt it would go back! Every single time you take the carafe out to pour coffee it has water that runs onto the Hot plate!! This should NOT be happening. Make sure you have a towel or cloth to wipe it as eventually its going to ruin the Hot Plate and it will not heat anymore! For the price I thought it was good but I'm not happy! I purchased one before and it did the same thing. Waited over a year hoping they would improve it. NOPE! 09/27/2014
