Rated 1 out of 5 by not what it says it is in the reviews I purchased this unit after much thought ,and the fact this product had outstanding reviews, seems to have been high quality . All assumptions were very wrong on my part . when setting the thickness to shave this unit has a "dead" spot in the knob , so you go from a 1/8 th inch slice to not slicing anything . When you put the meat on the slide and add minimal pressure to make your cut it "pop's" the adjustment to a thick slice . so I Took it back to the store , they had one on the shelf so I took it out and checked that one too . It was the same way . Sending this unit back and getting the commercial unit that they use in the markets . 05/10/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this slicer! Years ago I had a food slicer that drove me crazy, so threw it away! Started slicing meats by hand, but not very easy to get thin cuts. Decided to give this baby a try after reading so many positive reviews and I am not disappointed about my purchase! It took no time at all to slice a 4lb turkey breast and was easy enough to clean. It does come apart easy for cleaning and if you only wanted to remove the blade to clean, the rest of the slicer is easy enough to clean without taking it apart. I had no trouble removing the blade for cleaning! Now I have only used this once, but I don't really see that I won't enjoy this for many years! 10/20/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy to use Have used this a couple of times since we bought it. It works great, is easy to clean, and definitely serves the purpose. I have 2 complaints . . .1) the component that you use to hold the meat to be sliced in place only holds the meat in the slicing direction. On the return stroke, the meat will slip off and you have to reposition for the next slice; and 2) the meat tray to collect what you have sliced is not extended far enough to the back. You definitely have to hang the tray off the back of the slicer. All in all though, this slicer serves it purpose. 02/21/2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what we were looking for!!! My husband and I make our own bread, corned beef, pastrami, and have a vegetable garden. We had been looking for a slicer and I kept coming back to this one. Hubby thought we would have to buy a high end slicer to get good results, but after reading reviews about several different slicers, this one came out on top. It's not too heavy or big, and is well constructed. Cleanup is not difficult, like some reviewers said. We were able to slice pastrami very thinly and consistently. We also sliced bread, onions (for frying - love those thin, crispy onion rings) and eggplant. It takes a bit of practice to find the right setting for the width of the slice, and what pressure to apply to the holder/pusher, but I am extremely happy that we got this slicer. 04/03/2013
