Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Basic Design This was one of the original cordless hot pots and was well designed. The pot itself is one piece rather than a few pressed together. What that means is that there is less likelihood that it should leak water out of the pot and to the electric base. I've owned less expensive pots where the pieces of the pot are squeezed together to form the water container. Sorry to say, with use, i.e. metal expanding and contracting with the applied heat over and over again, there is a tendency for leaks to develop at the seams. Before you buy any hot pot you may want to insure that the pot itself is made of one piece rather than several. It is cheaper to make a pot with seams, just less effective. The pot itself is simple. Heat water to boiling and then turn off at that point. Do not think that you can use the pot for heating other than water as the water level gauge is practically impossible to clean. 01/14/2013
