The material is flimsy, and the belt does not retain shape. See the attached photo which shows the unusual curve created after only a few wearings.

I returned 4 Dockers braided belts today. All of them were falling apart. Three were stamped imitation leather and the "leather" was peeling off. One had a cord through the belt at each edge. The "leather" was breaking around the cord. One belt was stamped leather, but also broke in several places. These Dockers belts are very poor quality.

The belt has elastic on edges which enable some stretch. This increases the comfort. The elastic is black and blends well with the dark shade of brown. The design of leather for the buckle connection seems to be a design feature that will increase the durability. I like the belt enough to try and get one in black.....taking a chance on the durability. No such luck; Kohls showed only a narrower model that is entirely braided. I purchased one....anyone want to place bets on durability between the two?

This belt exceeds my expectations for a reasonably priced accessory. The fit and finish are top notch and the belt even 'gives' a little. The added stretch serves to provide a custom fit. I'm not constantly pulling up my pants or adjusting the waist. The belt fastening holes are located on a separate piece of leather than that of the braided weave. This makes for a stronger hold, rather than the clasp breaking through the weave over time like other woven belts I've had.
