After attaching to rug when peeling yellow plastic off, the tape came off the rug too. If you tried to press down with fingers it stuck to your fingers but not the rug. This is definitely NOT for a rug with stiff backing. We put down hoping all would stay in place. The tape stuck to floor, but not the rug. Rug still slides and tape (which only adheres to the floor) is visible.

I thought I would try this product to extend the life of a couple of rugs I had where the waffle backing had worn off but the rugs were still perfectly fine. I followed the installation instructions precisely. The first couple of days the rug stayed put. I had half on a carpeted surface and half on a tile floor. After 3 days the tape just didn't hold on the rug. There didn't seem to be enough adhesive on the tape to stick to the rug. The tape stayed on the tile floor just fine but the rug was everywhere but on the tape. In my opinion this product is a total waste of time and money. I then tried a rug pad which was only marginally better. I ended up buying new rugs.

I bought this tape as an inexpensive solution to keep a small 2'x3' rug in place on a tiled bathroom floor. Because I assumed it wouldn't work, I only put two 2' pieces (one at each of the short ends) onto the back. I put the rug down on the floor and haven't touched, slid or thought about it since. Even with much less tape than the directions call for, it has held the rug in place firmly without fail. This has been a great solution!

My rug in the living room always folds up in the middle. I tried this ruggripper tape to see if it would work and keep it in place. The tape would not stick to the back of the rug - but sticks to the carpet it is on. It still folds up and the rug still wont stick even though I have walked over it a million times.
