Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure about this yet I tried shredding baby carrots yesterday. Some pieces of carrots got stuck between the white housing and the round shredder disk. What did get through the shredder disk were quite shredded, though. I'm concerned about the food waste. I also had large chunks of carrots mixed in with the shredded carrots in the finished product. The white plastic housing held the orange color of the carrots and no amount of washing could get the stain off. This was my first use so I was surprised that no other reviewers mentioned staining or material remaining between the white plastic housing and the round shredder. I will keep working with it, but may return.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works..... Well when it arrived I was so excited to get it out and shred some cheese with it. I get it all hooked up and I can 't get bell to lock into place. So I try another bell. None of them will lock into place. So I put it away and get out my hand held cheese shredder and get to work. Finally 1 wk later my husband has time to look at it. After using a hammer and screw driver we are in business. He had to adjust the little hook things on the bell so they would actually attach to the mixer. So it does work. I tried to slice cucumbers and it just grabbed them and kind of just tore them. Maybe with a harder vegetable like carrots it would work better. Will update as I use it more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Convenience I have only used my slicer one time so far. I made a mess the first time I used it because I didn't select the correct slicer cup to attach. I changed it to a thicker slice and it worked great for home made potato chips. I look forward to using it to shred cheese. I was disappointed though that I left the blade part drying over night and found that it had what appeared to be rust spots on it the next morning after only using it one time. I wiped it down and it looks okay now but I will definitely dry it off with a cloth from now on instead of letting it drain on a cloth.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from MIXER SLICER/SHREDDER Unless you like your vegetables sliced thin you will be disappointed with this product. I used the slicer that was allegedly for "thick" slices and they came out like paper, you can see through them. I can't imagine what the "thin" cone will do... probably completely shred the vegetable you put in there. I suspect the cheese shredder cone will work nicely, though I haven't used it. First Kitchen Aid product I am disappointed with. They need to rework that "thick" cone so that you really get "thick" slices.
