 by SharonCooks Very disappointed
I came here to report large cracking in the FGA and assumed since Kitchenaid stands for quality that it would be covered by a warranty. At a retail price of over $60 this shouldn't break so easily. It's a few years old however it has been used how many times?? maybe 7 ??

First time I used it there was some gray oily stuff came out at the end. I think it needed scrubbed really well with a bottle brush before I used it.
You do have to keep out as much connective tissue ( Granny calls it gristle) as you can. I had trouble with pork the first time. So there is a learning curve.
Having the freshly ground meat is the plus. I tastes better and I know is and what isn't in it. Wish there were more sizes to the cutting discs though.

I love the grinder. The problem is, with a company that makes such a superior Standmixer, I have had to replace the grinder twice, and shredder twice. They crack easily and at the cost of them, they are not a good buy. I just purchased one of your vintage grinders that is made of aluminum and wonder why you changed the aluminum to plastic. The plastic ones aren't any good. As for the shredder, I decided to go with a cheaper brand food processor instead of purchasing a 3rd one. I love my Kitchen Aid and have bought one for both of my kids because they are excellent. But advised them that the accessories aren't worth the money. Sorry.

Only used once - but had no issues. Feels pretty solid, even though it's got a lot of plastic pieces. Seems a little difficult to clean - odd angles, lots of nooks and crannies, not all dishwasher safe.
