Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cracks make it unusable. I have used this grinder maybe 5 or 6 times, and only for grinding sirloin to make fresh burger, to avoid the widespread contamination they have found in ground meats everywhere. Now I notice cracks in the plastic, near where the metal post goes into the mixer hub. This will harbor bacteria, making it unusable for grinding clean ground meat. There is a design flaw here...if only in the choice to make it of plastic! Expensive garbage. If I still had my receipt, I would return it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed I've used this attachment for grinding chuck, only. I've had it for about 6 months and have ground about 15 pounds of beef. With the first use, there has been a black viscous substance that comes out with/on the meat. I think it is lubricant from inside the shaft of the feeder screw. I end up have to pick threw the ground beef and remove what I can. This is kind of gross. I can only hope it is a food grade lubricant.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a meat grinder!! This was a birthday gift. The only purpose was to grind my own meats. All it does is mash meat and stop after a minute because of the build up of fat, muscle and grizzle. Have to take it apart to pry off glop just to have to do it again and again. Tried with beef and then pork with same results. There are grey pieces of meat dispersed among ground meat Very disappointed with this, even though have 2 mixers that are are by far the best I have used. One mixer was my mom's dating back from 1958 and still runs like a top and my newest is 20 years old in excellent condition.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from meat grinding I bought this grinder about 10 years ago. It has a grey in color supposedly food safe grease in the works somewhere. It colors everything. Ever had grey parmesan cheese? I swear it changed the taste also. When I contacted Kitchen aid about this problem they declined to do anything other than telling me it was safe to eat. It also gets clogged easily. What a waste of money!
