These knives are superb for cutting certain foods like tomatoes and meat. But the serrated edge doesn't do the best job on, say, baked potatoes. They push in the skin instead of cutting through it. Odd, since they slice tomatoes beautifully.
Anyway, I love them for what they do well, but still rely on my trusty old wooden-handled serrated knives for a couple of things. The plastic handles are sturdier than my wooden ones, and that's better.
I do not hand wash these, as instructed. Everything goes in the dishwasher, and the knives come out fine. Had to scour off a couple of rust spots when first used, but none since.

Years ago I purchased a Ginsu knife set and loved them. Over the years we lost the steak knives. When I saw that Kohl's had the Ginsu product I purchased the steak knives and fell in love all over again. You can't beat these knives. They really do just slice through the meat. They've also got a more attractive style now. The ones I purchased years ago had plastic handles. Anyone wanting a long lasting set of steak knives should purchase these.

I used my old Revere steak knives until the handles fell off -- not making them any more. I searched everywhere for a narrow blade self-sharpening steak knife that would double for a utility kitchen knife. These are just what I wanted. Bought two sets and the whole family loves them! Seem to do fine in the dishwasher -- a super value. Kohls ships to Hawaii--thank you!

Bought these for myself many years ago - now daughter needed some steak knives and I bought her a set for Christmas and decided to get myself another set. They are great, very sharp and hold up with washing in dishwasher. Love them
