Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what they were... If I were reviewing the 6 pairs I purchased ~8 years ago, it would read all 5's. If I were reviewing the 6 pairs I purchased ~2 years ago, some of the scores would have dropped to 3's and 4's because Union Bay went with a lighter weight material which proved less durable. Since I am now reviewing my purchase from 1 month ago, they are at 2's because the material is even lighter, the 'relaxed' aspect is less relaxed (new cut is quite tight in the butt and thighs and I weigh less than I did with the previous purchases), the small pockets are now open not Velcro closable, and the large cargo pockets are secured with one Velcro not two. 08/04/2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Wish I would have read all the reviews first... Like others I have read now, I bought two pairs about 8 months ago at my local Kohl's store and loved them. Thought I'd get two more pair before the disappear like most pants do when I find a style that fits. Ordered two more pair online and had the wife take them back to the store and get herself something. I could barely get my legs in these things now. I prefer to wear boots when I can and the old ones fit perfectly over my boots, new ones, not a chance. So disappointed they changed these. I get that slim/skinny jeans might be the "in" thing now, but not everybody likes that style. Guys, unless you're walking around on a pair of toothpicks or like the skinny look, keep on looking like I have to now. 07/23/2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Pants are not as they seem... Bought these knowing that they were a relaxed cut pant, but from the knee down these pants were slim. I will note that I have bird legs and an average waistline and these pants didn't fit in a normal "relaxed" fashion. The pants also seemed longer than normal. I usually wear a 32 inch inseam, but these were easily 34 inches. I bought a pair in 3 of the colors and the fit was the same on each. I also recently bought the Sonoma cargo pants and the fit was exactly the same as these pants. I don't get how the pants are a relaxed fit in the waist and thighs, but then turn into a a much slimmer fit from the knee on down. I'm not a trendy got to have the latest style kind of guy, so I really hate the slim style pants that are all the rave these days. I'm a guy and I want room in my pants and I really don't want my pant legs tapered down around my knees and ankles. I've bought these and the Sonoma pants last year and the fit was spot on. What happened is beyond me. 04/18/2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just order a waist size up from normal As others have mentioned, starting with last year, these pants have gotten much tighter in a real unnecessary fashion then they were in previous years. After doing a little visual comparing between two pairs I just ordered this year to a few pairs I have from 3 or 4 years ago I can see that a 34x30 from this year is exactly the same size as a 32x30 was back then. Trying the pants on also confirms this, in that this years 34x30 feels and fits like they did before last's years disappointment. So if you miss the old fit it might be worth a shot going a waist size up. I also noticed that the material of the two pairs I got this year seem to be thicker like they were a couple of years ago and not the weak thin material from the 3 pairs of pants I bought last year. 11/17/2014
