Rated 5 out of 5Â by craig04c5 Nice and thin
I have been looking for the Gold Toe Metropolitan socks at our local Kohls for years and they did not carry them. I bought the Gold Toe Fluffies thinking they would be thin enough but they bunched up when wearing loafers and are too think for Florida weather. I finally found them at Kohls.com and was even able to use my 30% discount. I love Kohls.com

From the beginning I wondered HOW can one sock size possibly fit every man's foot from size 6 to size 12 and I was right to wonder since they're slightly large for me wearing a 9.5 shoe. In my opinion, these fit perfectly for shoe sizes 10-12.5, but definitely NOT for shoe sizes smaller than 9. Most others on this review board seem to be complaining Gold Toe should offer a wider selection of colors and I do agree, but offering a wider range of sizes would help more people. I truly can't even imagine how this sock can possibly fit a male U.S. size 6 as they claim since as I said, I'm 9.5 and they're a bit large, but they'll work. Gold Toe needs to offer a smaller version for sizes 6 thru 9 so if you're a size 6-9, you should forget about this sock or any sock that claims to fit both you AND a size 12.5. That claim is totally absurd.
They're extremely comfortable and high quality, that's for sure, and they feel great, but again, there can't possibly be a sock than can fit a size 6 though a size 12.5 foot!
Secondly, if you have muscular calves, they'll fall down (as all socks of this height do) after a short while. I don't believe there are ANY socks that stay up longer than an hour on muscular calves except those that extend over the calf (up to the knee). I have those too and I love them very much but these shorter, calf-length socks definitely slip down a muscular calf.
I hope my review is helpful and beneficial to all who could relate to the issues I tried to bring to the forefront of concerns, even more important than offering other colors. Offering two sizes should be of greater concern and a useful tip that potential buyers should be made aware of. I think the issue of offering additional colors is more of an issue to take up with Customer Service than on a review board.
