Going back to the olden days can be a good thing. The only power the Bissell needs is your arm. There are no batteries to check; no cords to trip over, and it is so quiet you can use it in the library where I work without disturbing our patrons. And it picks up the little pieces of grit that are tracked in from outside much easier than the heavy duty electric vacuum (heavy on the heavy) we have. I gave one to the library for Christmas and bought myself a new one too. I didn't really need a new one, because they never wear out, but wanted one for my sewing room to pick up the little threads that hit the floor.

As a waiter/bartender in the restaurant/bar business for more than 30 years, I've used every brand, make and model of manual sweeper there is, and I can say from experience that the Bissell brand is THE BEST!!!. I personally own a Bissell 'Sweep Up' 2102-B for my home and I rarely use my Bissell electric vacuum because the Bissell 'Sweep Up' 2102-B does such a good job! This is also the same model we use daily at work to clean the restaurant, bar and dancefloor following 1,000+ patrons. This is the perfect manual floor-cleaning work-horse for your home!! It is for mine!!! ;-)

Had one of these years ago and it disappeared! Finally found this online at Kohl's and I was thrilled! This is a MUST HAVE if you have plush carpet and cats! Picks up their hair (and mine as it is long) with a few sweeps across the carpet. Also picks up the carpet fuzz from their scratching post with ease. I use the Bissell Cordless Sweeper in between regular vacuuming to keep carpets looking fresh. Also leaves nice "tracks" in carpet that look like I pulled out the big sweeper! Doesn't work very well on tile just kind of glides over it and blows particles out. But does work well on throw rugs! For the price this is a great value. Just remember to clean out the brushes underneath and empty the trays, it's easy but not always pleasant (dust bunnies & cat hair!).
