We bought a whole set of Farberware classic cookware which included this frypan as well. The lifetime warranty would make you think that it is well made of high quality components. Not so unfortunately, and since you have to return the item to Farberware before they will replace it, it gets rather pricey to fulfill the warranty. They have replaced my larger fry pan twice for me and also my 8 quart stock pot. Now the handles on my larger frypan and this frypan are broken again and I am debating on whether I should bother to have them replaced yet again or just get something different.

Not like it used to be. I badly burned my 37-year-old 10" skillet and the replacement, though heavier, which is actually a con because of my arthritic hands/fingers, this pan has a bottom that concaves so much that most of the bottom of the pan does not make contact with my range top! If you can't properly heat up food in a pan, the pan gets a one-star rating! The lid does not fit securely, has a lot of jiggle. I will return and go with another brand if this is what I can expect from the new Farberware.

For wedding gifts in the 1970's, I received two Farberware cooking utensils (a 4 qt saucepan and a 4.5 qt skillet), both with fitted lids. I have used them and loved them for decades. We have moved cross-country and overseas, and back again. The pots survived in excellent condition. Other brands of cookware have come and gone in my kitchen, but the Farberware remains! It's heavy, so it doesn't go skittering across my cooktop. It's durable, so it hasn't gotten dinged-up in our many moves. The Phenolic handles are easily replaced. My newest Farberware piece is the 2.75 qt sauté pan with fitted lid. It heats quickly and evenly. The sides are vertical, not sloped, so liquids don't slosh out. The pan is easy to clean. Thank you for continuing to make fine cookware !!

When my relatives came to visit me, they were surprised to see 50+ yr. old cookware that has been used (abused, makes also good popcorn), and still was in such good condition. We received the set as a wedding present in 1957. That speaks for itself. For smaller meal portions, I purchased the 10", which also came with a cover. I just need a smaller size cookware.
