A friend of mine started making his own bread and told me how easy it was so I wanted to give it a try, too. Since I don't have a mixer or bread machine (and don't want one) I had to get a rolling pin. I opted for the French style because I had heard good things about them and because my friend was having trouble with his traditional one. This rolling pin is awesome! It feels like you have a lot more control and maneuverability with it. It's a smaller diameter and I thought that might be a problem, but it's actually a good thing. I might just buy one for my friend.

My "normal" rolling pin had the handle pop out of place and whenever I would get into my cookies or pie crust, it would pop out, well, with this wonderful rolling pin, that can never happen! it's a beautiful design that handles wonderfully!

I recently purchased this rolling pin to roll out dough on a pizza stone with a rather large lip. It works beautifully as its thinner edges can roll dough into the creases. Great price as well.

I have never used this type of rolling pin before but I am very happy with this. It seems to be easier to use than one with handles. I have the oxo with handles but this is now the one I use for everything. It made rolling out the Christmas cookies enjoyable! The only reason I did not rate this a 5 star is because it seems a little rough when rubbing my hand over it to knock off the dough. It seems like it could give a splinter. I don't know if mine is a fluke or not.
